Having the perfect designer shoes can make all the difference in the world.

There are plenty of instances in life where it's important to look and feel your best, and the day you have a job interview is one of them. However, it's important to follow a few tips to find the perfect outfit for this occasion.

"For the interview, tone down but don't hold back. Women should show an element of their personal style," says New York Corporate Image Advisor Laura Solomon, according to Forbes Magazine.

The advice below will not only help you look like a serious candidate, but stylish as well.

1) Do some research

Nothing is worse than coming into an interview only to find out that you look like a fish out of water. That is where doing your homework comes in handy. "You really need to know what the company stands for, what the company's dress policy is and how the current employees are presenting themselves," states Solomon. In the event you can't get a read on what employees wear, err on the side of conservative.

2) Look polished

A viable candidate is always going to look polished. That means clothes are pressed, hair is clean and styled and makeup is minimal. Interestingly enough, Forbes writes that looking like you need the job can actually have an effect on your salary offer.

3) Remember to accessorize
