Karl Lagerfeld highlights coat-dresses and suits at 2012 fall fashion show

Chanel brings the best of its label out in its 2012 fall fashion show.

Coco Chanel. Her very name is synonymous with glamour, class and sophistication. And at the recent Chanel 2012 fall couture runway show, creative director Karl Lagerfeld made sure the brand’s reputation lived up to its name.

According to Vogue Magazine, the stage (or runway) was set for a show that dazzled attendees. White pots filled with Gardenia plants lined the grand, ornate staircase of the Grand Palais in Paris. Guests were seated in white wicker chairs below and munched on mini macaroons that sat on the table.

Rail-thin models strolled down the catwalk in classic, but never-dated Chanel suits and flowy-bottomed coat- dresses in plaid prints, shades of light pink and stormy-grey. Hearty jackets and colored stockings perfected the look.

”All the tweeds are embroidery,” Karl said, according to Vogue. ”Three thousand hours for some of them.”

With such labor-intensive pieces, it’s no wonder that Chanel’s clothing and accessories are among the finest (and most expensive) in the world.

As the evening wear portion of the show began, models showcased romantic dresses, some in pink and others in classic black. The look was anything but boring. Luxe fabrics like tulle, chiffon and velvet added texture to each exquisite piece.
